After 32 years in retail furniture at Young's Furniture & Rug Co. in High Point, I became more active in the Quaker community at New Garden Friends Meeting. I also have enjoyed rewarding associations with New Garden Friends School and the American Friends Service Committee.

I am committed to the preservation of natural areas, am a member of the Guilford County Open Space Committee, and have worked to protect wildlife habitat and the Haw River Wetlands.
